Sgt Preston M. Parker attended the St. Petersburg High School.

He enlisted at Camp Blanding, Florida on 3 March 1942. After his training he was an instructor for one year before he was sent overseas in February 1945.

Early March 1945 he was wounded in action by artillery shell fragments in the thorax. He was released from hospital and rejoined his company.
