T/4 Reuben J.W. Jeanes attended high school for four years and was a farmhand before he joined the Regular Army on 22 October 1940.

In June 1944, he was reported wounded in action in Italy by artillery shell fragments at his wrist and knee.

In January 1945, he was reported severely wounded in action by artillery shell fragments in the abdomen. He died from his wounds on 22 January. The exact date of the report and the location where he died is not known.
