T/Sgt George W. Crawford attended high school for three years.

He orginally joined the Regular Army. After his tour, he started working at the Hillsdale Screen Company.

He enlisted in Kalamazoo, Michigan on 4 May 1942.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments to his back.
