Pvt George M. Peters attended high school for four years and was a toolmaker, employed by the Heintz Mfg. Co.

He enlisted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 14 July 1944 and was sent overseas on 1 January 1945.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments to his abdomen, pelvis, and back.
