Sgt Anthony S. Augustyn attended high school for four years and was employed by the American Can Co.

He enlisted in Camden, New Jersey on 31 October 1942.

From October 1943 to February 1944 he was hospitalized for wounds caused by artillery shell fragments in the leg.

He was killed in action by small arms fire in the thorax.
