Pfc Patrick F. Farina attended high school for four years and was employed at the Standard Brands Inc.He enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 6 September 1943.
For his actions on 10 September 1944, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal posthumously.
On 25 October 1944 five American servicemen and five French civilians were killed by an explosion of a time delayed bomb left by the Germans in the sawmill of Les Rouges-Eaux. This tragic event is remembered on a monument.
