Pfc Sterling B. G. Hall attended high school for four years and was employed at the Bethlehem Steel Company, before he enlisted in Allentown, Pennsylvania on 22 January 1944. He was sent overseas on 8 August 1944.

He was killed in action by artillery shell fragments in his head and thorax.
