1st Sgt Nicholas A. Lynch was an orphan with no known relatives.

He had a post graduate degree when he joined the Regular Army at Punta Gorda Army Air Force Base, Florida on 11 January 1939.

In 1940 he served with H Company of the 27th Infantry in Wehiawa, Honolulu, Hawaii.

He was killed by small arms fire to his head and neck.
