More information

Sgt Walter G. Wiede attended high school for two years and worked in a textile factory before he enlisted in Worcester, Massachusetts on 28 February 1941.

In February 1944, he was hospitalized in Italy for a non-battle injury caused by small arms fire. He rejoined his unit in March.

He was killed in action by artillery shell fragments to his hip and buttock.
