Sgt Emery J. McGee was raised in the Goodland Indian Orphanage before he enlisted in March 1942.He was wounded in action several times during the period that he was in Italy.
He was killed by small arms fire in the head.
For his actions that day he was awarded with the Bronze Star Medal posthumously.
