Pvt Robert Haeni was employed by the Mayville White Lime Works.He enlisted in Juneau, Dodge County on 29 April 1943.
He first served in a truck company but later had an infantry training in France. After that training he joined A Company in Germany on 29 March 1945. Later he was transferred to HQ & HQ Company.
On 26 April 1945 he was killed in action, in a small town in the vicinity of Augsburg, Germany by a German sniper who shot him in the thorax.
