Pfc Owen V. Burns graduated from the Immaculate Conception Academy and was a bookkeeper, employed by the First Security Bank & Trust Company.

He enlisted on 11 April 1944, had his basic training at Camp Roberts, California and he arrived in France in October 1944.

He is remembered at the Calvary Cemetery in Charles City, Floyd County, Iowa.
