Pfc Leonard P. Dudley attended high school for two years and was a production worker employed by the Craddock Shoe Corporation.

He enlisted in Richmond, Virginia on 3 April 1943.

In May 1944 he was wounded in action in Italy by artillery shell fragments to his head and neck. He returned to duty in July 1944.

In April 1945 he was severly wounded in action by a landmine explosion. He died of his wounds on 14 April 1945. The exact date of being wounded and the location are not known.
