Pvt Charles W. Fleming attended high school for four years and was a manager, employed by the Canteen Co.He enlisted in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 30 November 1943. He was sent overseas in August 1944.
He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his head.
His stepson, Russell Wallick, was a petty officer on the submarine USS Kete, which was reported overdue from patrol on 31 May 1945 and presumed lost on 22 March 1945 off Ryukyu Islands.
