Pvt Cecil R. Reed worked on the family farm.

He enlisted at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on 4 September 1943.

Pvt Reed was severely wounded in action in the head and died of his wounds and a meningitis on 13 November 1944. The exact date when he was reported wounded in action and the location where he died, is not known.
