Pfc Woodrow W. Crawford was a sales clerk, employed by the Retail Candy Store before he enlisted.

He enlisted at Fort Jay, New York on 29 April 1942.

From May 1944 to June 1944 he was hospitalized for wounds caused by small arms fire in his leg.
