Pvt Edward G. O’Leary graduated from St. Patricks School and was a progress clerk employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad.

He enlisted at Ft. McArthur, California on 17 April 1944 and was sent overseas in September 1944.

On 3 November 1944 he was wounded for the first time by artillery shell fragments in his arm.

On 22 December 1944 he was severely wounded in action by by small arms fire in the colon, spine and trunk. He died of his wounds on 26 December. The exact location is unknown.
