Pvt Edward J. Pawlak was a metal polisher, employed by the Motor Products Company before he enlisted in Detroit, Michigan on 25 March 1941.

He joined A Company on 26 October 1944.

On 3 November 1944 he was severly wounded in action by artillery shell fragments to his heart and lungs. He died of his wounds a day later. The exact location is unknown.
