Pfc Dewey W. Dixon attended Marion High School for four years and was a sales clerk employed by W.E. Watkins before he enlisted at Camp Croft, South Carolina on 14 September 1943.On 14 September 1944, near Molland, France, and on 20 October 1944, near Grandevillers, he was reported wounded in action.
He was killed by artillery shell fragments in the abdomen and pelvis.
