Pfc Peter Gross attended high school for three years and was employed by the Max Rabin Glove Company, before he enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 12 April 1943.

In October 1944, he was wounded in action by small arms fire in France.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his head.
