Pfc Harry J. Herbin worked on the assembly line of the Mart Bell Forman Saginaw Stearing Gear Company.

He enlisted in January 1943.

He was wounded on 5 October 1944 and returned to his unit three days later. This earned him his first Purple Heart.

Pfc Herbin was killed by artillery shell fragments to the chest and leg.
