Pvt Alvin J. Lee was an orphan. He attended high school for one year and was a truck helper in a bakery.

In 1940 when he was drafted, he was an inmate of the St. Cloud, Minnesota State Reformatory.

He enlisted at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on 6 March 1944.

He was killed by small arms fire.
