Pfc Vernon W. McDonald was employed by the Kuder Citrus Mill before he enlisted in May 1943.

In October 1944, he was wounded in action in France by artillery shell fragments to his neck and knee. He stayed in the hospital until January 1945.

He was killed by small arms fire to his head.
