Pvt Edward F. Halek worked in the machine shop of the Standard Overhall Co.

He enlisted in Baltimore City, Maryland on 21 November 1942.

In April 1944, he was wounded at his hand in Italy.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in the abdomen.
