S/Sgt Robert E. Lewis attended college.

He enlisted in Peoria, Illinois on 2 February 1943.

In april 1944, he was reported wounded in action in Italy by small arms fire in his hip and buttock.

In October 1944 he was wounded again by small arms fire in the thorax. He died of his wounds on 14 ocktober 1944. The exact date when it was reported wounded in action and the location where he died, is not known.
