Pvt Alfred W. Gidcumb was employed with the Rembolds Garage in Chicago.He enlisted in July 1943.
Pvt Gidcumb was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his actions on 23 May 1944 in Italy.
He was killed by artillery shell fragments to the abdomen and thorax.
