Sgt William C. Holton was employed by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Company.

He enlisted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 24 March 1943.

In August 1944 he was wounded in action in France by a landmine explosion and was hopitalized until November.

Soon after returning to duty he was killed by artillery shell fragments.
