Pfc Andy Evanich Jr. attended Monessen High School.

He enlisted in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on 20 March 1943 and was sent overseas in April 1944.

In January 1945 he was wounded in action by hand grenade fragments at his head. He was hospitalized till February.

He was killed by an artillery shell explosion.
