More information

Pfc James Pickrell attended Ballard High School for three years and worked in the machine shop of the Wayland Motor Mill Co. before he enlisted in Tacoma, Washington on 5 September 1942.

In December 1943, in Italy, He was reported wounded in action by artillery shell fragments in the thigh and foot. He was discharged from the hospital in February 1944 and rejoined his unit.
