Sgt Louis R. Stoiber attended the North High School and was employed by the Armour Leather Co. when he enlisted on 26 February 1943.

In March 1944, in Italy, he was wounded by artillery shell fragments in the hip and buttock. He was discharged from the hospital in April 1944. In September 1944, he was wounded again by artillery shell fragments in the neck and thigh. He was discharged in October 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his leg.
