Sgt Constantinos N. Prassas attended high school for three years and was a retail manager in his own shop before he volunteered for the Army of the United States in Chicago, Illinois on 5 February 1942.He was awarded a Silver Star Medal posthumously for his actions on the day he was killed by artillery shell fragments to his head.
