Pfc Lewis D. Myers graduated from Hughesville High School before he enlisted in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 29 August 1944. He had his basic training at Camp Blanding Florida.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in the abdomen, pelvis and back.
