Pfc James H. Wilcutt was a molder in the brick plant of the Stephenson Bech Company before he enlisted at Fort McClellan, Alabama on 20 November 1942.

He died of his wounds, caused on the day he died, by artillery shell fragments in the thorax and shoulder. The exact location where he died is not known.
