Pfc Everett L. Loomis enlisted in Erie, Pennsylvania on 31 August 1943 and had his basic training at Camp Landing, Florida.

He was sent overseas on 22 February 1944.

In April 1944, in Italy, he was wounded by artillery shell fragments in his hand.
