Pfc Edward A. Kent was an inmate of the Minnesota State Reformatory in St. Cloud, Minnesota since 1940.

He enlisted on 15 Febuary 1942 and joined the Minnesota State Guard in October 1942. He was transferred to the army in March 1943.

His son Eugene was born on 6 June 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in the thorax.
