Sgt Jack O. Higgins attended college for three years and worked in the machine shop of the W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company, before he enlisted in Erie, Pennsylvania on 31 December 1942.In January 1944, in Italy, he was wounded by artillery shell fragments at his buttock and hip. He was discharged from the hospital in March 1944.
He was killed by small arms fire in his neck.
