Pfc Theodore H. Gibbs attended college for four years at the Pennsylvania Art Academy and was an instructor of sculpture and member of staff at the Cornell University in Ithica, New York. In 1938 he won the “Prix de Rome” in sculpture.He was working at a Boeing Plant in Washington before he enlisted in Los Angeles, California on 30 August 1943. He was sent overseas in September 1944.
In November 1944 he was wounded by a bullet in his cheek.
He was killed by artillery shell fragments in the face.
