Pvt Eldon D. Gier enlisted at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas on 25 August 1944.In February 1945, in France, he was wounded by artillery shell fragments in the shoulder and elbow. He was discharged from the hospital in April.
He was killed by small arms fire in the head.
