Pvt Maurice W. Minton joined the Regular Army in Jacksonville, Florida on 23 July 1940.
In December 1944 he was wounded by artillery shell fragments. He was discharged from the hospital in January 1945.
He was killed by small arms fire in the buttock and hip.
