Pfc Riley L. Sproul graduated from Daykin High School in 1928 and attended Peru State Teachers College for one year. He was salesman employed by the Cudaly Packing Company.He enlisted on 31 August 1943 in Maywood, Illinois and was sent overseas in March 1944.
In August 1944 he was wounded by artillery shell fragments.
In February 1945 he was wounded by artillery shell fragments at the lower abdomen and leg. He died from a lung infarction.
