Pfc Milton M. Goldman worked on the family farm before he enlisted at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on 29 October 1943. He was sent overseas in August 1944.

Already in August 1944 he was wounded by artillery shell fragments in the leg and foot. He was discharged from the hospital in November.
