Lt Gordon I. Tucker attended high school three years before he joined the Regular Army in Duluth, Minnesota on 2 October 1940.He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal when he was a T/Sgt in H Company for his actions on 29 February 1944 in Anzio, Italy.
