Pfc John Radzevich was an aviation mechanic employed by the LERC Company before he enlisted.In August 1944, he was wounded by artillery shell fragments. He was discharged from hospital in September 1944. For this action he received his first Purple Heart.
He was killed by artillery shell fragments in the neck and stomach.
Pfc Radzevich is remembered with a memorial marker at Denning Cemetery in Orient, Franklin County, Illinois.
