Pfc Walter L. Holland attended college for four years and was employed by the Cam Manufacturing Company before he enlisted in Cincinnati, Ohio on 2 November 1942.

In November 1943, in Italy, he was wounded by small arms fire in the abdomen, sine and trunk. He was discharged from the hospital in April 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments.
