Pfc Alan T. Johnson attended Bristol High School for four years and he worked part time at the Valentine's Market before he enlisted in New Haven, Connecticut on 18 August 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his leg.

He is also remembered at the West Cemetery in Bristol, Hartford County, Connecticut.
