Pvt Jewell W. Sweeney was employed at the Duro Chrome Furn Company before he enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri on 19 May 1944.He died of a gunshot wound in his mandible.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Solers, France.
