T/Sgt Kenneth L. Hurtle attended high school for four years and was employed at the Charles River Country Club before he enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 26 February 1941.

He was killed by small arms fire in his chest.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
