1st Lt Rex R. Wade attended college for two years and was an attendant at a filling station and parking lot before he joined the National Guard in Ontario AAF, California on 3 March 1941.

He died on 4 December 1944 as a result of wounds received in action on 1 December 1944.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
