S/Sgt George F. Alexander Jr. graduated in 1939 from Juneau-Douglas High School in Juneau, Alsaka where is father served as a federal judge. He attended the University of Washington for one year.

He volunteered for the Army of the United States on 23 June 1942.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
