Pvt Leverne R. Severson attended high school for four years and was employed at the Farrell Contracting Company before he enlisted at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on 23 May 1944.

He was killed by small arms fire in his chest.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
